More on Moisturizing Day and Night Creams... Moisture creams are rich, concentrated emulsion formulas. They are most effective for the neediest skin. Their thick consistency makes them ideal for specific areas such as the face, hands or delicate eye area. Bodywares' moisture creams are formulated with nourishing vitamins and other natural soothing ingredients which effectively moisturize the skin. We offer moisturizing creams for all skin types: dry, normal and partly oily. Though creams are often only considered for dry or mature skin, even partly oily skin needs a very light cream to restore the proper moisture balance after a thorough cleansing and toning. Some of our creams may contain lanolin and/or mineral oil, both of which are excellent emollients. Lanolin oil comes from sheep's wool. It is cleaned and purified, then the liquid portion may be extracted creating a lightweight, absorbent moisturizer. It is very similar to sebum -- the oil found in human skin -- whose purpose is to retain the skin's moisture. Mineral oil is a clean, purified, light oil. It has no smell and will not go rancid. Mineral oil is extremely stable, therefore it is often found in cosmetics. Mineral oil is added to cosmetic products to give them a rich lubricious feel, while providing a protective barrier which seals in the skin's moisture.
