Custom Scenting

Bodywares offers unscented products which can be custom scented with any of our natural or perfume essential oils.  In addition these essential oils can be used to make perfumes and colognes or custom blended to create your own unique fragrance.

Natural Essential Oils, Perfume Oils and Absolutes

Our line of Natural Essential Oils are distinct from and separate from our collection of Perfume Oils.  We offer both types of oils so that the widest variety is available to you for custom blending and custom scenting.  Occasionally we get questions regarding the differences between the two different types of oils.  This synopsis should help clear up any confusion.

Natural Essential Oils are mad through the process of extraction or steam distillation.   The source of most natural oils is plants -- petals, bark, seeds, leaves, fruits or wood. Nectarine offers both 100% pure essential oils as well as some which have been combined with a natural carrier oil.  We use high grade vegetable carrier oils which diffuse the high concentration of the essential oils yet do not change the character of the essence.  These are considered natural oils.  They contain no synthetic ingredients.

Most of our Perfume Oils, however, are synthetic fragrances which are compounds of pure essential oils, absolutes and synthetic materials.  This combination allows us to create unique, beautiful scents such as China Rain or Waterlily.  Some of our other Perfume Oils are created to be "nature identical" such as Hyacinth, Lilac or Jasmine.  They are still formulated using this combination of synthetic materials, natural essential oils and absolutes.  A good synthetic oil duplicates the chemicals which occur naturally in plants without the impractical waste of crushing thousands of flowers.
